It's been a bit since I last posted. I'll probably keep posting here until I have a hosting setup that publishes to both HTTP/Gemini. Maybe Gopher too if I really feel like it.

I found out earlier today (or yesterday, rather) that Ontario's education minister tabled a legislation that limits a school board's trustee size. I don't really know what they do, but this feels like a quick solution to a more complex problem. This isn't why I'm writing about it. It's the introduction of a chief executive officer. Supposedly they're gonna be there to oversee the finances or something like that. There's going to be a chief education officer that's...gonna be a liaison to the rest of the system? I kinda stopped paying attention at “CEO”. Yes, let's bring in concepts of the private sector to run the public sector.
I'm probably freaking out at a label and maybe the position will actually help the Ontario education system get the right tools to the schools. But given how much bad news I hear involving CEOs, either in their stupid ideas of how things work, or worse. This feels like a shit idea. I'm with the NDP rep that railed against it.
I finally started my dotfile repo. I've been editor hopping a lot lately because of how AI have tainted all the good ones. I'm holding hope that Helix won't fall into the same trap. That said, I've threw my helix config files into my dotfile repo and I'm pretty happy with it so far!
